I was doing some research for a product I launced a while ago and came up with the following Psychology of Network Marketers and my target market. I'm sure I've missed a few things but I reallygot into my prospects head to try to feel and think like they would.

This research took me several days to complete so make sure you use it, think about it and put it into action.

The only way you can help other network marketers and people who want to make an income from home is to understand how they think and act.

You'll find that some of the following is written in the first, second and third person. It's just the way I wrote it at the time of brain storming.

Autobiography Of My Prospect

30 year old man with a wife and 2 kids. I live in a 3 bedroom Semi, I either own the house or I am currently renting. I really want to get on property ladder but at present I cant afford a mortgage.

I've recently joined a network marketing or mlm company, I've been going to all the house and hotel meetings and I've been working very hard in addition to my full time job.

I made a list of everyone I know, including my family, friends, colleagues, old acquaintances and have contacted as many of them I feel comfortable contacting. I don’t want to contact the other people on my list about my business opportunity just in case they laugh at me, reject me or turn me down.

I've sponsored a few friends into the business but they're also struggling to sponsor other people. I’m not sure how much longer they'll continue to stay in the business if they aren't making any money. Each month we are spending more money than we're making as we have to buy the products each month and pay the membership fees etc.

The couple of friends I managed to sponsor, don’t seem as dedicated and committed as I am, and I'm finding it difficult to motivate them.

I've got a full time 9-5 job which I'd love to be able to quit so I can spend more time with my family and kids. Initially, I'd just like to earn a bit more cash from the network marketing business so I could afford to take my family on holidays, buy them new toys, more money for petrol and the general house hold bills.
My expenses are increasing each month, the economy is in a pretty bad state, the cost of petrol, food, bills and property is skyrocketing and all I want to do is to earn more money to enjoy life a bit more!

I've been reading books and training material which the company has told me to read and I've been listening to the CD’s they've given me.

I put some adverts in various shop windows and and newspapers and I've had a few people respond so far, although no one has joined my business.

I find I'm running out of time each day and week and I’m not able to achieve as much as I'd like to.

It’s a balancing act trying to spend time with my family, work my day job, look after the kids and then try to build my network marketing business.

Before I can build my network marketing business, I need to learn about the company, understand the structure and how it works, understand the concepts and learn how to sponsor new people and what to say to them.

They've told me that all I need to do is to sponsor 3 people and then teach them to do the same. It can’t be that hard can it?

So the problem I have is finding those 3 people who I can then teach to sponsor 3 people each. I don’t really understand what I’m doing either so I don’t know how to teach other people.

The company I'm with is brilliant and I can’t see why my family and friends can’t see that. They keep saying to me it’s a scam, I’m not going to make any money with it, it’s a pyramid scheme and only the people at the top are the ones who make all the money! I know that’s not true. The company has been around for a long time and network marketing is a legitimate form of business. Yes, the people at the top do make a lot of money, but that’s because they have done all the hard work and built their business.

The only way they make money is by helping other people make money and duplicating their efforts.

I want to prove my friends and family wrong, they may think I’m crazy but I am going to prove them wrong. I will succeed in the end! I just have to find a way to succeed!

Recently I have been seeing people doing really well on the Internet, they say they are getting loads of leads by marketing their business online. I know how to use the Internet a little bit, but I don’t really know where to start.

It’s difficult knowing who to trust. There are lots of sales letters trying to promote other things. Which one do I go for?

Recently I've been going on forums, learning about the Internet and some of the ideas are excellent. I can see how it works but it seems pretty complicated.

I need to duplicate my efforts and then train my downline to do the same, but before I do that I need to build a team of 3 people, learn about duplication and teach my team to do the same.

Finding new people is hard, I've pretty much exhausted my prospect list, my friends and family are staying away from me at the moment and they think I’m crazy. Every time I used to see them I'd mention what a great business I was involved with and that they should come along to the meetings.

Getting people to the house meetings is pretty hard and finding the people to invite along to the meetings is even harder!

Sometimes I have to travel to the meetings and I don’t get back until 12am. I'm away from my family in the evenings as I’m trying to build up my business and then I have to go to work in the morning!

The worse of it is that I'm trying to spend more time with my family, stay at home more, earn more money to pay the bills and lead a better lifestyle but at the moment I see my family less and less than before. I’m out more often at these meetings and I'm spending more money in the process.

I've recently had to get a new credit card to help me pay for the products I need to buy each month and to pay for the travelling to the meetings and the training materials!

I’m not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to keep this up, but I really want it to work and I really want to prove everyone wrong. I have my reputation staked on this.

If I could earn more money, spend time with my family more, relax more rather than working harder then I would be happy.

In the future me and my family could go on great holidays abroad, we could get a bigger house and a nicer car. Everyone would envy me and I'd feel great! That will prove those doubters wrong!

The'll see me driving round in a great car and feel silly that they doubted me all along! I'll be going on holiday to exotic locations whilst they are still in their 9-5 jobs, driving around in their old car and going on holiday in the same places as before!

The 5 things you need to know about when posting on forums:

1. Never advertise you business in your posts, it will make you look like you are only after one thing! You will get your opportunity to tell people about it… so don’t worry!
2. Wait for a few weeks before you add your signature to your profile. This way, you will have already established a relationship with the other members and your credibility will be higher than if you put your signature on straight away.
3. Aim to build up long term relationships with the other forum members by offering as much value as you possibly can! The more you can help others, the more they will be willing to help you in the future.
4. Post at least twice per day on network marketing related forums and try to stick to two forums initially. Build your credibility and relationships on those forums before you move onto the next forum.
5. Wait for the other person to ask you the question about what network marketing business you're involved with. You have to remember that everyone on mlm forums is only after one thing… which is to get signups for their business. This is a big mistake. Go onto the forums to build relationships, add value, make friends and learn. Once you're able to do this and not seem like a desperate fool trying to promote your network marketing business…  you'll do very well!

3 Tips You Can Use RIGHT NOW To Help Build Your MLM Business.

1. Set up a blog and start posting on it. Write your thoughts, ideas, tips and tricks down! In fact, just write something! Your prospects, leads and downline want to know more about you… they want to see inside YOUR world and what YOU get up to. They want to know that you are a real person who is just like them! Building up that relationships is the most important thing you can do!
2. Join a Network Marketing related forum right now! Create a profile, put up a photo of yourself and introduce yourself to the other members. Go through some of the posts and see if you can help anyone else with a problem they are having.
3. If you’re not already on Facebook, set yourself up a profile and make friends with all your old friends. Think about School, College, University, Sports Teams, Social Clubs etc. Then go through their friend list and look for other people you recognise. Important!!! Stop!!! Don’t promote your business to them… they'll run a mile just like your friends and family. Once you've build up a relationship with them again, and they ask you what you are up to these days, you can mention it, but don’t give them the hard sell. Facebook is a social thing and people are there to interact, not buy things!

Question Number 10 – Why Won’t People Buy, What Are Their Objections?

1. Price.
2. They think the program will work but it won’t work for them.
3. They don’t have enough time to learn something else.
4. They don’t trust me and think it’s a scam.
5. They are afraid I’m going to steal their credit card number.
6. They may not have ever bought online and they don’t know what an e-book is.
7. They think it’s too expensive.
8. Never used Paypal before.
9. Have bought similar products before and have been burned.
10. No money back guarantee.
11. They think they don’t need the product and they can continue the way they always have, and getting the same results.
12. Their upline tells them not to start using the Internet. (Mainly because they don’t understand it themselves) But when they see the success you are having, they will soon change their mind!
13. Don’t think the product is right for them.

Question 11 – What Is The Dream?

To have an endless supply of desperate leads who come flocking to you because you are the expert. They are begging you to join your network marketing business, and they want you to help them do the same. You are having to turn people away because they do not fit your criteria of a good prospect. Obviously you can only work with serious people and you have to draw the line at the non serious ones.

Your bank balance is so big that you don’t have to worry if you never sponsored another person again. The money will just keep on rolling in, day after day, week after week, month after money and year after year without you having to do anything again!

You can go travel the world, see all the sights you always wanted to see, take your family along with you, spend all day and night with your family and friends drinking cocktails in Hawaii!

Go a month long cruise ship, and answer your emails from your wireless blackberry or sit on the beach checking your emails every day whilst sitting with your feet in the swimming pool.

You could buy that dream house you always wanted, or have that holiday retreat you always dreamed of.
You don’t have to worry about the bills anymore, you can relax, sit back and know that the bills will continue to pay themselves.

Your downline is so big now that it’s growing by 30-50 people every week, which is adding an extra $2000-$5000 to your business each month!

This is it, this is where you have always wanted to be!

You now have enough money to take care of yourself, to help out local charities, and help other people who are less fortunate than you. You have done the hard work, and now it’s time to reap the rewards!

Instead of worrying about where you are going to find the money to pay the next bill or wondering how you will get through Christmas, you are faced with the problem on knowing what you are going to invest your next hundred thousand into, what car you are going to buy next, or where about’s in the world you are going to go next because you've already been to most places!

Question 12 – What Is The Nightmare?

1. You continue to do what you have always been doing in your network marketing business, you don’t make any money, you don’t sponsor many leads and you end up failing.

8. You have to get a second job just to make ends meet which takes you away from your family again!
9. When your family gets ill, you don’t have enough money for them to go into a good hospital. You don’t have very good healthcare and you get frustrated because you can’t get them the best healthcare they need!

Question 13 - Describe The Outcome They Want And The Emotion They Are Feeling

You want a bigger downline, want to sponsor more people and ultimately want to lead a better life with more money and time. Network Marketing is a vehicle to get the prospect to where they want to be.

You are feeling overwhelmed with all the tools of the Internet. You know what to do but can’t figure a way of doing it. You think you are stupid because you can’t get it to work. The harder you try, the more you scare people off.

If you do a search on youtube for the name of a network marketing company you're with or are doing research on, you'll usually find the name of the company followed by the word scam. Does this get your attention?

If I was looking to do some research on a company to see if it was legitimate or a scam, and I saw the word scam next to the company, I'd watch that video to confirm my suspicions.

When you watch the video, the person in the video is actually promoting that company and is using the word scam in the headline to get your attention. You'll see it everywhere you look on youtube. Here are a few scam titles you'll find:

Do the above headlines get your attention? They'd get my attention if I was doing some research for that company or product.

When you watch the video, the person is actually talking about something totally different. It's called reverse marketing or reverse funnel marketing. You take keywords for other network marketing companies than the one you are promoting and you drive people to your video. You then cross sell them something totally different but related to network marketing, such as a training ebook or course.

If you want to attract leads from other network marketing companies, you use those keywords in your videos and blog posts and pull in people from those companies. These people are super qualified and they already understand about network marketing and MLM. They watch your video and subscribe to your offer.

You need to think laterally when doing video marketing. Who's your target prospect? It's network marketers who are struggling to build their business, or people looking for a home based business. So if you can attract people from other companies into your funnel and capture their lead details, you can build a relationship with them and eventually sponsor them into your business opportunity.

Do some research. Type in a few network marketing companies in the youtube search box followed by the word scam and you'll find hundreds and hundreds of videos talking about that company being a scam. Watch a few of those videos and try to grasp what they are doing.

You can use this with your blog posts, articles, videos, or audio's. Go through a list of various companies, use the name of the company + the word scam in the title and watch the people come flooding in.

Using Youtube friend adder software, you'll be able to spend more of your time focusing on the more important aspects of your business. If you can leverage software and technology to work on your business automatically, you can focus on writing the content and contacting your leads rather than manually adding friends to youtube and myspace.

Using friend adding software both on youtube and myspace is similar to hiring either another person or a robot to do the laborious aspects of your work.

I don't usually use the software on my main youtube account, just incase youtube doesn't like it and closes my account. I'd rather lose an account that only has 5 videos on it than one that has almost 100 although the chances of losing your account are very slim.

As long as you set the software to work like a human being does, then there wont be a problem with getting your account closed.

If you're not already using youtube or videos to build your business, then you need to be. It allows you to put your face out there and build a relationship with people much easier and quicker.

Rejection free marketing is the 'buzz phrase' at present which means that people can read your content, watch your videos and get to know you better before they contact you. If they don't like what you do, you will never know about it.

You will only know about the people who do like what you do and will want to be a part of it. They'll usually contact you and ask for your help.

As an Internet marketer and network marketer I'm constantly educating and improving myself by reading, listening and learning as many different books, audios and courses as I possibly can.

A long time ago, I realised I was in charge of my own life and if I don't build myself up with as much great knowledge as I can, then I won't succeed in my major goal in life.

The list above is what I am currently reading and learning from. My typical day usually consists of:

07.00-09.00 - Affirmations, Vizualization, breathing exercises, breakfast, spending time with my partner, 45 minutes reading Think and Grow Rich.
09.00-11.00 - Blog posts/ Record video
11.00-11.30 - Break (Switch off and forget about everything)
11.30-13.30 - Social Networking, emails, replying to people, posting on walls, groups etc
13.30-14.00 - (Switch off and forget about everything)
14.00-16.00 - Learn something about Network Marketing. Usually 5 pillars, personality types or persuasion
16.00-17.00 - Relax
17.00-20.00 - Teach, train and help others
20.00-22.00 - Spend quality time with my partner
22.00-23.00 - Read/ Relax/ Unwind

That is my ideal day. I sometimes mix the sessions up, but I try to learn various network marketing techniques, ideas, persuasion, NLP, personality types etc for about 2 hours per day. I read an organizational, goal setting or self help book in the morning and then read 30 mins of a nutrition, health or spiritual book in the evening.

My main content session is first thing in the morning where I write a blog post and record a video, followed by my social networking session where I make contact with people to speak with in the evening.

I then speak to, train and help other people learn how to become successful network marketers and build a successful business in the evening.

I'm also learning about:

• YouTube Marketing
• Facebook Marketing
• MySpace Marketing
• Public Speaking
• NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
• Copywriting (writing sales letters)
• Google Adwords

You never 'get there', and will always be learning. I feel that if I'm not learning, then I'm not growing and I'm losing the race to the top.

I've always had a small fear of public speaking so I'm also working on conquering that. I'm taking personal tuition, going to Toast Masters International and going to local Meet Up groups. I'm also getting married next year so I have to prepare for my speech

I know if I can personally master public speaking, it will help me no end with my presentation skills, trainings, webinars and seminars and will propel me and my business to the next level.

NLP is something I've always enjoyed. It helps me understand other people, how we all fit together, what makes us tick, what motivates us, how to set goals and understand our style of learning etc. It's also helped me with my rapport building and relationship skills over the years.

I'm attending an 8 day full time NLP Practitioner course in December which I'm very much looking forward to. I then hope to do the master practitioner course in the future which will then help me with life coaching and teaching others how to achieve their goals and dreams.

I'm learning to drive at present also, which takes up 2 hours of my week! 31 years old and never learned to drive

So there you go, I'm doing a lot of things in my life at present and when I add my other online business into the mix, things can get a little hectic. Now you know why I'm learning more about organization and goal setting! Mainly to keep me sane.

I sometimes wonder how I ever had a full time job 5 years ago. I wouldn't have the time to fit it in now.

So, if you've got a full time job, a family and you are trying to make money online, just take it one step at a time. Learn in your spare time, in the car, in your lunch break and weekends. Make friends with other network marketers through the social networks such as Facebook, youtube and myspace and speak to them on a regular basis. Learn as much as you can from others who have already succeeded.

Yes, it is a long learning curve and can be a balancing act at times but we all have to do what we can, when we can.

You've seen how I manage my day, so I suggest you plan your days in advance and stick to your routine. This way, you aren't wasting any of that precious time.

When you are with your husband, wife, or family then switch off from work and enjoy being with them! Minimize distraction and interuptions and focus as much as you can on one single task at hand.

I've been looking for a great email signature service for a while and a few days ago, I came across WiseStamp. WiseStamp is a Firefox plugin which works for Gmail, Aol, Yahoo and Hotmail email clients. All you need to do is to install the plugin into firefox, edit the signatures and it will automatically insert your signature at the end of your emails along with your websites and social network site links.

Facebook's newsfeed lies at the heart of Facebook's operating system and can be a very powerful tool for  network marketers if used correctly.

The more active you can be on Facebook, the more chance you have of being noticed by other network marketers.

When you comment on someone's profile, video, photo, message or write anything on a public piece of information, it will show up in your newsfeed and more importantly, it will show up in the newsfeed of the other person.

This means that the other persons friends will also be able to see your comment. Now, if you add your website link at the bottom of your comment, then their friends will be able to click on your link and go through to your website which increases your exposure.

If you post 10 comments on peoples profile each day and leave your link in your signature, then thats a lot of exposure for your website each week.
